Basketball

Summerland enters basketball teams into the Massey YMCA competition. The YMCA holds two junior basketball seasons throughout the year. Season 1 is held during term 1 and 2; Season 2 is held during term 3 and 4.

There are four age grade competitions that run throughout the week:
Under 7 play on a Friday from 3:45
Under 9 play on a Wednesdays from 3:45
Under 11 play on a Monday or Tuesday (depends on which grade they are in) from 3:45.

Netball

All Games are played at Te Pai Courts - 31-35 Te Pai Place, Lincoln Rd, Waitakere 0654.

All players need to make sure their nails are trimmed and remember that no Jewellery is to be worn.

All our year 1/2 and year 3/4 games are played after school on Thursdays. All year 5/6 games are played after school on a Monday from 5pm. Coaches and managers of these teams will be in contact with you about game times.

Winter Field Days- 

Henderson sports cluster get together in term 3 to hold a day where every student is encouraged to train and participate in a new sport. The sports on offer are Netball, Hockey, Soccer, Kiwi Sport and Rugby Union. Each event is held at different venues:

Netball - Te Pai Courts
Hockey - Rosedale Park
Soccer - Henderson High School
Kiwi Sport - Te Pai Courts
Rugby - Waitakere College

Athletics

We hold our annual school athletics day at Trust Stadium in term 4. This is for children in year 2-6. For children in year 1 this is held at school on another day.

Hockey 

Summerland enter teams into the competition run by Waitakere Hockey on a Monday night at Henderson High School. There are two seasons throughout the year: season 1 is run during term 1 and season 2 is run during term 4. This is open for children of all year levels.

Henderson Cluster Sport 

Summerland is a part of the Henderson Sports Cluster. This cluster runs a variety of sports competitions throughout the year that we can enter teams into. These teams opt in and children usually trial to make the final team/s.

The sports that are run throughout the year are:

  • Swimming (Term 1)

  • Cross Country (Term 2)

  • Basketball (Term 2)
