Discovery centre
We have a discovery centre in our classroom. It is a place where children can interactively explore science and interesting things of our world. Throughout the year if you find something that you think would be great for exploration or have something old you no longer need, we would love it if you could donate it to our classroom. Here are some ideas...
- things that make you wonder WOW! WHY? HOW?
- bugs (in a jar of course!)
- interesting leaves/rocks/shells/feathers
- birds nest (no longer occupied)
- scientific equipment e.g. glasses, tweezers, funnels, eye droppers
- flower petals
- assortments of seeds (sunflower, bean, grass)
- binoculars/magnifying glass
- broken appliances like keyboards, toasters, remote controls (for children to pull apart and put back together)
- tools
- magnets
- bubbles
