Island paintings

We have been learning how to create depth in a picture by having a foreground, mid and background. We tried different techniques with the paint such as swiping, flicking, blending and dry brush. We also used tonal modeling on some objects to show the light and dark sides. We used cardboard to create 3D effects aswell.

The idea to create an island came from the story 'The Hatchet' that we have been reading in class. The boy in the story was stranded on an island like the ones we painted.
