When you first walk into our classroom it may look like chaos but it is all going to plan. We are doing reading!
How is this reading you ask - well Miss Davies gave us a School Journal this week to work through. We had activities for all of the different stories in the book.
After working through vocab activities, six hat thinking, discussing and reading we got to our final activities - these were the practical ones. Each group had a practical task to do..
Kikorangi - made signs and posters to warn traffic to slow down outside our school
Whero - made scarecrows and mermaids after reading about a school in the South Island that made one for a community event
Kakariki - had a chance to learn how to sew and made soft toys or cushions. Linda-lula came in and taught us how to sew on the sewing machine and by hand
Mangu & Karaka - made a delicious treat for the whole class - they made Marshmellow Sandwiches
Check out some photos of us as we enjoy our Reading!
