On Friday 2 March room 16 supported room 15 with their computer
learning. We had to learn how to deliver instructions and how to
communicate with children younger than ourselves. We showed them how to
use the computer safely and sensibly. We taught them how to use KidPix
to draw a grid with straight lines and then fill each section with
different colours. They are making a quilt. We then had to show them
how to save their work, put it on the server into their folders. It was
a lot of fun for all of us and brings our Whanau closer together too.
We have also started some Animalations with Ms Taylor while Miss Cheeseman trains up the new SPSTV crew.
You can see we were engaged in the activity and on task. We discussed our research and
what we were doing. We were all absorbed in finding information, but
not only that we were willing to share, support and discuss ideas and new
learning with others. We were like this for the entire 75 mins we
worked and it was tough work getting us to save and put computers away!
Some of the websites we were on were “very scientific” and “not
child friendly” those of us in these were able to justify that we
could find the information we were after and understand it!!
